Church Planter's Covenant

FOREST LAKES DISTRICT

Recognizing that there exists a interdependency among churches affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church, and that the pastors of these churches must exhibit a spirit of humility, mutual support and accountability, I wish to openly state my commitment to work within the following guidelines:

1. I am unreservedly in agreement with the EFCA Statement of Faith.

2. I am in agreement with seeking to implement a congregational form of government. (As a resource, refer to the articles by Harold Friesen and Bill Hull.)

3. I am fully committed to planting a church which will be affiliated with the Forest Lakes District of the EFCA, and am willing to complete the application for membership with the FLD.

4. I fully intend to seek credentialing with the EFCA.

5. I am willing to actively participate in a supportive network of church planters in the FLD.

6. I will be supportive of the ministries of the EFCA and the FLD, and will seek to involve my church in the financial support of district ministries and missions.

7. I will demonstrate a spirit of harmony and accountability with the FLD District Superintendent, Director of Church Multiplication, and area FLD Church Multiplication Team. If I am receiving funds through a FLD contract account, I recognize my monthly responsibility to complete a district report, even after the time of the church's full membership in the district.
